Ancient appearances, modern facilities

The house was built around 1700 as one of three similar adjacent buildings. As a result of its protected status of National Monument, the exterior of the building didn’t change much over the past three centuries. The clock facade, the old fashioned lifting bar, the grid lined windows and the old Amsterdam Green doors and frame work – it’s all still there.

From the inside though, things did change. The living room on the first floor has a stylish and neutral fit out: wooden floors, white insulated walls and comfortable furniture with a modern look. The adjacent kitchen is small but practical and cosy. On the upper floor, both the bed and the bath offer a great view of the ancient roof frame. The bathroom is large and luxurious.
